Explanation
During the construction of the barracks, fencing with three monumental gateways was constructed. At the entrance on the corner of Prins Bisschopsingel and Sint Hubertuslaan, there is a separate guardhouse, where people entering or leaving the barracks were checked. A little further on, there is the guardhouse or tower building that served as a residence for the officers, both commissioned and non-commissioned. On Sint Hubertuslaan, three more staff residences were built for non-commissioned officers and their families.
