Water birds

Explanation

Where there is water, there is life. And some species can only live where there is water. For example, because they depend on water for finding food or nesting. There are a lot of water birds within Tapijn. We would like to highlight the most common ones here. They include the mallard, the domestic duck, the mute swan, the coot, the moorhen, and the grey heron. The first five all nest directly on the bank of the Jeker, within Tapijn. This year, for the first time, the grey heron made a number of nests in the tall trees of the city park.
